So we made it this far huh? Great!
If you read, and I hope you did, the
terms & policy page
then you know that in order to be put into our work queue you will need to make an initial payment.
I sincerely wish this was not necessary but we have spent countless hours on work for people only to find out
they were just "shopping" for information and were not really serious about creating a website at that time.
Let's Begin!
1. Make an outline of your new website. This can be as simple as a rough drawing, done with paper and pencil!
It will give you a "visual" idea of what you want as well as give you an idea of the number of pages you will need
on your website.
This would be an example of a 6 page website:
- Home
- About Us
- Service
- Service A
- Service B
- Contact Us
2. On your "rough drawing" page. Write down some things that you like and dislike about other
websites. Write down colors that you liked or a type face that you liked. What about some form of
animation? Something that you looked at and just said, "Now that's cool!"
3. A Rose By Any Other Name...So What's In A Name For A Website?
Pick the name you want. Uh-oh! Someone else got the name before you. Click here to find out if a name is available as well as
how to make sure you get the name you want before someone else does! Next you need a web host so that once you have a website domain name,
and a website, the world will be able to see it and find you. This requires a web host and LaLWebDesign has extremely
reasonable web hosting rates!
3. Now The Fun Begins!
Make sure you have read and agree to the Terms & Policy page. The next step is to hire me and and make your initial 4 hour prepayment.
Once your payment is received you will get an "email receipt" for the payment and your website will be put into our work queue. To help speed things along you may
include, with the payment,
your rough outline and any ideas you might have come up with. When your time in the work queue is
up I will contact you (usually within 3 working days of receipt) so that we may discuss your website. We will then design a "mock-up" and upload it to your domain.
At this point it will be
"static", meaning it will be
just an image and nothing will be workable "clickable". Now it's your turn. You look at the mock-up and tell me what needs to be changed, and we'll change it. This is were we
like to think we differ from so many other webdesign companies. This is your website, not ours, so it's important that when you look at it you see, and feel, what you
want...not what we want.
4. Are We Ready Yet?
It will take several rounds of iteration before we get to a point where the "mock-up" is at the point that you can say "that's good" and you approve of the mock up. The "mock-up"
will then become the foundation of your website. At this point we will start "refining" what you have "approved"
of thus far. This is where we need your page content, images, and/or simple animation. The next phase is to "tweak" any areas that require attention before the "official launch" of
your website.
5. Here We Go!
Once you say that's it, we will do all the final "tecky" stuff to ensure that the search engines will begin "crawling"
your new website.
6. Let's Keep In Touch, O.K.?
Here is something else that seperates LaLWebDesign apart from so many of the other webdesign companies. NO MAINTENANCE CONTRACT! I just don't agree with the need for
maintenance contracts. Just rubs me the wrong way, so when you need changes...just contact us. To read how we handle maintenance simply click here.
